The table is folded from polished sheet steel. It is self-supporting due to its folding and has no base. At the head (foot) the table becomes narrower and finally pointed. One table-leg has a maximum foot print, the other one a minimum foot print. The structure of the table is not static but off balance. The table has a heavy side and a light side. It is not in balance. It is an Unbalanced Table. Produced is the table by the upper Austrian Manufacturer Schinko GmbH.

A Stalkless Hazard

The foot is small, but the wine glass is not less stable than a conventional glass of the same height. The shift of the centre of gravity toward the floor provides the necessary stability. Nevertheless the glass looks as if it were lacking stability. This break with the inevitable semantics - a break that has a long tradition in architecture but is generally still regarded as wrong in design - was Thomas Feichtner’s intention. As to its shape the glass is a combination of wine glass and wine goblet. It comes with a water tumbler, the body of which is similar to the body of the wine glass - a wine glass without foot, so to speak. Over the last few decades the traditional glassworks have disappeared from the region in which Thomas Feichtner is living and working. The glasses are produced by the glassblower Günther Mausz, who strictly speaking is a manufacturer of laboratory glass equipment. That’s why the glasses are made of resistance glass which is used in laboratories and particularly break proof and well-sounding.

The ski XP100 is a handcrafted ski with a wood core construction covered by titanium and carbon fiber. It is the top model of the range 2001. The counterpart is the white ski X40 in the entry level. For the first time the strong reduction of its shape and graphic design was shown apart from any ebullient decor.lt;br /gt;

Honey Chair

The idea behind the Honey Chair is exactly the opposite, however. The question we were up against was: Can't a chair assume the characteristics of a stool? An experiment. The Honey Chair is a chair which shows the simplicity, surface and material of a stool. The formal solution is angular, but nevertheless comfortable. Holzwerkstatt Rehberger, a richly traditional workshop in Upper Austria, undertakes production.

Mayas Bed

Therefore the bed has a sculptural character. One sleeps not near the ground but raised one meter above the ground and slightly hidden behind three back rests. One may retreat to it like a child retreating into a tree house. Thomas Feichtner describes the bed as a flower with petals and draws parallels to the childrenamp;rsquo;s TV series amp;ldquo;Maya the Beeamp;ldquo; from his childhood years, the seventies. In the animated TV series Maya the Bee curls up in a blossom to sleep. This was the most beautiful and quietest place Thomas Feichtner could imagine in those days. Therefore the bed was named Mayaamp;rsquo;s Bed.

Josef Linschinger, organizer of the Gmunden symposia for concrete art and an internationally accepted leading exponent of concrete art in Austria, was Thomas Feichtner's professor at University of Arts Linz. The Landesgalerie (State Gallery) Linz presented a documentation of the symposia in 2008. The symposia, which have been organized since 1990, have been documented in 20 publications so far. These publications were presented by Thomas Feichtner within the framework of an exhibition installation. Five sitting platforms in mirror-inverted arrangement offer the visitor a chance to study the 20 volumes. The function of the platforms is not reduced to the presentation of the books but to invite the visitor to sit and linger. The so-called podestal seats are hollow and self-supporting through the precise, computer-supported miter cuts. The inside of the hollow bodies is purple - a blend of cyan and magenta, the colors of the mural texts.
