Concept 8 delivered an unconventional poster for the unconventional documentary movie “The Pervert's Guide To Cinema” by the British film director Sophie Fiennes.
The documentary movie “The Pervert's Guide To Cinema” by the British film director Sophie Fiennes takes the viewer beyond the stories of the greatest movies ever made.
It unveils the dark ideas beyond the narrative. With his passionate approach, the charismatic Slovenian philosopher and psychoanalyst Slavoj Zizek delves into the hidden language of cinema, uncovering what movies can tell us about ourselves. The film is constructed in three parts for TV, whereas parts 1 and 2 are shown as one movie at international movie festivals. The poster has been commissioned for the filmfestival Viennale’06 in Vienna, October 2006.
The poster does not display a typical subject of cinematic action but is action itself: just as the movie reveals the hidden side of glossy surface, the poster’s dark side gets uncovered in a disturbing act of intervention. To reveal even more of what lies beneath, the beholder is encouraged to proceed with the distruction.
