Seating
Based on the Rocking Chair, originally designed by Rainer Mutsch in 2001, the belgian company SIXINCH now reissues the edgy seating furniture on a large scale. Made of a hollow rotomolded plastic structure the Rocking Chair is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Design: Rainer Mutsch 2001
“The Rocking Chair was originally thought as a statement against the prevalent blob- and retro-streaming in furniture design in the beginning of the 2000s. The concept was to analyse the different areas of a chair and to reduce them to the very ergonomically essential ones – afterwards to substitute them with exact, plane surfaces and triangles.“
The chair was officially launched during this year's “Interieur 08” furniture fair in Kortrijk, Belgium.
