Tables
Born out of the first collaboration with the carpenters‘ workshop Pühringer from Mühlviertl, a new image of the traditional corner bench takes shape as a place for discussion, meeting, eating together, and family rituals.
The reduced formal language transforms “Austrians’ favorite piece of furniture” into a purist furnishing object committed to its origin. The white-painted seat and table surface merge visually with the spatial environment; the walnut of the foundation creates a strong accentuation. The dual challenge of revitalizing a traditional piece of furniture according to the proportions and models of the past and working via abstraction resulted in a reserved design solution that is full of personality.
