A limited 40-copy edition of the carpet was produced on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing (July 20, 1969, Apollo 11). The perforation extends the scope of the carpet and opens space for new visions.
The moon, called Luna by the Romans, Selene and Artemis by the Greeks, has many further names in other mythologies. Since prehistoric times, the moon is well known. After the sun it is the second brightest object in the sky. As the moon revolves around Earth once a month, the angle between Earth, the moon and the sun is constantly changing, which is easy to follow with the cycles of the moon.
The moon's uneven, scarred surface is the conceptual approach to the project and also a metaphor for the perforation projected into the plane, which enables exciting patterns and unusual see-through options in the textile surface of the carpet.
Each copy is a unique piece and signed.
