Glass & Ceramic
This unique combination of porcelain and stoneware in a single piece is made possible by my very own stack-firing technique. The result is a vase that impresses with strong contrasts and is both very functional and elegant.
This vase is made with leftover stoneware and porcelain parts.
The tenmoku-glazed base was supposed to be part of a large
sculpture and the porcelain portion was a spare part for one of
my mushroom objects. The stoneware rim was made
to complete the piece in its new manifestation as a vase.
The components are simply stacked up and fired together
without being properly joined.
They are fused into a watertight container by the melting glazes.
