Two Axiome in Rotation

"Two Axioms in Rotation" are two drinking glasses taking up the typical stylistic vocabulary of the "Axiome" series from Thomas Feichtner.

“Two Axiome in Rotation“ are two drinking glasses taking up the typical language of forms of “Axiome“. For the first time, however, they do not consist of straight surfaces. The glasses gain their three-dimensional body only by rotating the “Axiome”, which explains the term “Two Axiome in Rotation”. The engraved groove dissociates the surfaces from each other, so they appear as isolated bodies. The black visual effect of the glass is achieved by multi-colored glass. With light shining through, red, blue and violet tinges appear. The bright model is made of white solid-colored glass.

The shape of the glasses is reflected horizontally, thus creating two different glasses from one form. The glasses can be fabricated in manufactures only, as the edges of the groove cannot be made other than by engraving. “Two Axiome in Rotation” are produced by the old-established glass manufacture of Lobmeyr. The enterprise is closely connected with the Austrian history of design.
