Trinkservice No. 267 "Alpha" / Set with four colourful glasses

Hans Harald Rath designed the "Alpha“ set in 1952. The even shape full of tension makes the glasses lie smoothly in the hands.

The idea came from a medieval copper tumbler, itself influenced by Islamic shapes. Following the trend of the fifties the glasses can be stapled – bearing the spirit of the Frankfurter Küche (“for the young household”). Thinnest musselin glas, mouth blown into wooden forms, gives them elegance.

In 1964 this series was awarded the German National Design Price "Gute Form“. Today the water tumblers are available in four light colours and granate.

One Set for € 120.- contains four glasses from Drinking set No. 267 “Alpha” - colours with a yellow, red, blue and black seam.
