"Tile Award" Competition for Newcomers Announced

The architecture magazine AIT, in cooperation with Deutsche Steinzeug, announces a creative ideas competition focusing on tiles. The task is to design new, unconventional and sensational interiors with tiles. The emphasis is on the bathroom and sanitary area. Creative and unusual ideas are wanted, which reveal the manifold design opportunities the material presents. Within the framework of the themes on offer there are no limits for the participants’ imagination.

The competition task is the new design of a prototypical room with the use of tiles. The participants can choose from two different scenarios. The designers are free to decide in what form the “tile” is used.
The design can be submitted in the form of a drawing, photomontage or visualisation.
From all submitted works, an expert jury will select the most interesting ideas.
In the second competition phase, the winners of the first phase have the possibility to present their results and further develop them with the experts from AGROB BUCHTAL during a workshop in Iceland lasting several days. The most creative ideas will be realised and documented in a professional photo shooting.
Architects and interior designers under 35 years of age are invited to participate in this competition.
