Spirit Design's course "Management of Innovation Processes" held in four 3-day modules will investigate the question, how to make innovation projects successful. Design plays an active role as a competitive factor for innovation. Kick-off is on 29 September 2008.

No question: Only companies that succeed in placing innovation in the market are competitive in the long-term. But few companies only use the full potential of innovation. This reduces the probability of success causing a long time-to-market.
Innovation is a must in saturated markets that are characterized by an increasing competition. Only companies that succeed in positioning new products and brands in the market avoid exhausting price competition and gain new business fields. The most common causes, when innovation fails, are a lack of market knowledge or a missing know-how in project management and process management. A comprehensive and integrated training in innovation management, however, did not exist so far.
Using design as a competitive factor
Both product and brand design are now key competitive factors. It plays an integrative role when developing and marketing new products, brands and thus successful innovations. Spirit Design further developed the innovation process and modeled the process steps in terms of an optimal integration of the design factor.
